"Be still, and know that I am God." —Psalm 46:10
Authenticity is messy. It’s raw. It’s the late-night prayers whispered into a tear-stained pillow. It’s the silent wrestlings with God, the longing, the doubt, the relentless hope. Authenticity is the unfiltered truth we bring to Jesus—not the version we clean up for the world.
Where have you been hiding the raw, unfiltered parts of your story? What would happen if you brought them to God, just as they are?
My mother lived that kind of faith—not curated, not polished, but real. She didn’t just believe in God—she brought her whole heart, her whole life, and every shattered piece to Him. She led not from perfection but from presence. Not from certainty but from surrender.
The Everyday Woman
She was what I call the Everyday Woman—the kind who shows up for everything and everyone. The kind who carries more than most realize.
She served Jesus, her family, her friends, her church, and her job. She paid the bills, held down the household, remembered birthdays, and barely had time for a breath—much less the “self-care” Instagram loves to talk about.
And yet, she kept pursuing God. Always pressing in. Always chasing after Abba (the name she used for God because of the intimacy it invoked), even when the road felt too steep to climb.
When has life felt too steep for you? What kept you moving forward, even when it hurt?
Faith That Fights
Her life wasn’t easy. She faced hardship, loss, depression, anxiety, grief, and fear—things that often remain unspoken in Christian circles. But my mama didn’t run from those places. She wrestled with God inside them. And that, to me, is the truest kind of authenticity.
She wrote in 2013, “I am broken. We are all broken. I do not want to be sinful—I just am, accidentally.” And then she quoted Romans 7:18-19: “…For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.”
She didn’t try to wrap her life in a pretty bow. She brought the whole mess to Jesus. That’s what made her strong.
Have you ever felt like your brokenness disqualified you? What if it was actually the thing drawing you closer to God?
The Leadership That Lasts
My mother’s faith shaped everything—not just how she lived but how she led.
She didn’t stand behind podiums or write leadership manuals. She led in the everyday moments, in resilience, in quiet impact. That’s why leadership, at its best, is not about performance—it’s about alignment. And that’s exactly what AIMS™ was built for.
The same truths my mother lived—the same foundation she stood on—became the heart of the AIMS™ Leadership Framework:
Authenticity—Owning your truth and showing up fully
Influence—Leading with presence that inspires action
Motivation—Sustaining energy through alignment, not exhaustion
Service—Multiplying impact by lifting others as you rise
Her unwavering faith, her quiet resilience, and her relentless commitment to serving others shaped who I am as a leader. And now, I am sharing this foundation with you to prepare for the upcoming launch of my book—where we will dive deep into each pillar of AIMS™ and rewrite leadership frameworks that no longer serve us.
What leadership patterns have you absorbed that no longer align with your values? What do you need to rewrite?
Because leadership was never meant to be performative. It was meant to be rooted.
The Power of the Comma
She had a way of noticing details that others would miss. One morning, she found herself captivated by the comma in Psalm 46:10: "Be still, and know that I am God."
That tiny pause changed everything for her.
"A comma is a yellow light," she wrote. "Not a red one. Just a moment to breathe, to catch your breath before moving forward."
Have you been rushing past the moments where God is asking you to pause?
Isn’t that what we all need? To pause. To breathe. To reflect. Because when we rush through life without that sacred pause, we miss the stillness where God speaks.
And yet, even in her stillness, she was always listening—ears tuned for His whisper. She would pray, “Lord, where are You working, and may I come join You?” She saw every part of her life—even the hardest parts—as places where God was doing something. And she wanted to be a part of it.
Where might God already be working in your life—what would happen if you joined Him there?
Final Challenge: Lead Like You Belong
No more hiding. No more shrinking into the background. No more waiting until you feel "ready"—because Jesus never asked for perfect, He asked for real.
Today, choose to be real. Choose to bring the messy, the unfiltered, the parts of yourself that feel unfinished—and lay them before the One who already knows you completely.
The world doesn’t need more polished faith. It needs surrendered faith. And it starts right here.
Your leadership voice is strongest when it aligns with truth—not when it conforms to the room.
Because when you rise, others rise with you.
